This was a fun outing. I've petted and held chickens before, but I've never collected their eggs. It was fun to see where the chickens live in the winter - as it turns out, it's rather nicer than certain dorms I've been in. The pigs and sheep looked pretty comfortable too, especially the sheep, who had their own personal watchdog.

Goodness, those wee girls certainly do have a nice winter home. But you know what? All I could think about is how much of pain that space must be to clean! Chickens are awfully messy, and I think the only way I'll ever, ever, ever keep them is totally free range, 100% of the time.
Anyway, isn't it so much fun to collect eggs!
Love these photos! They take me back to childhood. Egg gathering was one of the daily chores on the farm. It was like going on a treasure hunt every day.
